Today I will:
-Use the Arch Method to attack a Rhetorical analysis prompt and write a
-Complete SOAPSTone and an outline for a Rhetorical Analysis prompt

Please take out:
-a writing utensil

Agenda:
-Rhetorical Analysis
-- Write an intro. Include SOAPSTone. Craft your thesis something like: Jennifer Price view U.S. culture as not only _________ but also _________ by (how to) in order to ________
-- Write 1 body paragraph. Your body paragraph should be about tone, diction, or historical details. Make sure you provide concrete evidence of how she creates and/or uses the strategy AND analyze how her rhetorical choices reveal what she believes about American culture.
-Argument Review (ROE)

Homework:
-Argument practice using the 2014 prompt distributed in class -
1. Define creativity in your own words.
2. Brainstorm all pros of a class in creativity.
3. Brainstorm all cons of a class in creativity.
4. Is there any middle ground or a possible compromise/solution?
5. Write an outline (Part of the process of creating an outline is considering all of your ideas above and filtering convincing arguments from weird or too-obvious arguments. One of the body paragraphs reflected in the outline can be a concessions paragraph.)
6. Write a thesis statement and 1 body paragraph of the essay. Submit your thesis + body paragraph to turnitin.com. (Alternately, write the whole essay. Under typical time constraints, you would likely have 20-25 minutes to actually draft the essay after the brainstorming and organizing process.)
